Acclaimed author Amy Lukavics on modern vs. period horror
I had a great time this week talking to Amy Lukavics, the author of two fantastic horror novels, The Women in the Walls and Daughters Unto Devils.
She also happens to be one of the few authors I've ever known (Paul Tremblay, author of A Head Full of Ghosts, being another) who has done a reading at Comic-Con.
Amy's first book is set in the mid 1800s, and the second in present day. We talked about the horror genre, what it's like writing modern versus period horror, and how reading (or watching) horror helps empower us.
