I've been wanting to meet Paul for some time. For one, his book, A Head Full of Ghosts, if often bundled with mine on Amazon. Second, he's a fellow New Englander. Third, he wrote a list of top horror films that include some of my own eclectic choices (Lake Mungo for one).
Now the author of six novels, he has just released Disappearance at Devil's Rock. A Head Full of Ghosts has been optioned for film by Robert Downey Jr.'s production company, and has "scared the hell out of" Stephen King.
In the interview, we talk about what makes New England the perfect place for horror, and compare dueling Boston accents. I'll admit, mine's really rusty, and I didn't nail my accent this time around.
